  China’s Dynamic Zero-Covid Policy

        Starting from 2019, Covid -19 began to ravage the world. Many countries according to their own national conditions, a series of prevention and control policies have been formulated. And China has formulated The Dynamic zero-Covid policy. So, what exactly does this Dynamic zero Covid policy mean? What is it going to achieve?  Is it effective for most people today after three years? It is effective because it controls Covid in a specific area, keeps most of the people’s jobs and reduces the bad influence on the world.

        First, Dynamic zero-Covid policy is based on large scale of test, it cannot be understood as not allowing anyone single case to appear in China. Instead, once a confirmed case is found, the specific area needs to start a large scale of testing, also control the contact of people from near area, to avoid more healthy citizens getting infected. This can also reduce the burden on hospitals, leaving a bed for patients who have different diseases. 

         Second, there is an important reason why China needs to formulate the Dynamic Zero-Covid policy. According to “Worldmeter.com”, China has 1.4 billion people in 2022. Because China has a large population base. Once a large scale of infection occurs, there are not sufficient medical facilities to treat everyone. If the elderly or the children of a family get infected, the middle-aged adult must stop working and stay home to take care of them. Without income, many families will be destroyed. To a country, once the economic activities stop, numerous social problems will start.

Third, strengthen quarantine, container. Limit the entry and exit of a certain number of travelers and maintain the export of various commodities and materials. Not to infect the infected population and increase the burden on different countries. China’s Dynamic Zero-Covid Policy has effectively reduced the number of imported infections to other countries, which is essentially an effective prevention and control policy.

          After 3 years, the number of Covid-19 deaths rate in China is lower than most of the other countries. But it doesn’t mean that the dynamic zero-Covid policy is successful. Because everyone’s life is precious. Everyone is important to their family and friends, there is no second chance. I am very thankful that there is no one that I know passed away because of Covid. So, in general, the policy is still effective.
